Kate + Nick
Iconic NYC Engagement
We've got something super fun to share with you today. We recently had the absolute pleasure of capturing a playful engagement session in the heart of Brooklyn, New York. And let us tell you, it was one for the books!
We had the honor of working with this adorable couple who wanted their engagement photos to reflect their love for adventure and their local neighborhood. And what better way to do that than by hopping on some bicycles and exploring the charming streets of Brooklyn together?
From the moment we started the shoot, we could feel the nostalgic and romantic vibes in the air. We kicked things off by getting some shots of Kate + Nick playfully riding their bikes through the bustling streets. The joy on their faces was infectious, and it really set the tone for the whole session.
We then ventured into their neighborhood, wandering through quaint little streets lined with brownstone houses and colorful murals. It was like stepping back in time, and we couldn't help but capture the couple stealing sweet glances at each other against this idyllic backdrop. The love between them was truly evident in every single frame.
But it wasn't just the beautiful location that made this session so special. It was the genuine connection and chemistry between Kate + Nick that made our job an absolute delight. They laughed, twirled, and even stole a few kisses along the way, creating these incredibly natural and intimate moments that I was lucky enough to capture.
As we wrapped up the session, we couldn't help but feel a sense of fulfillment and happiness wash over us. Being able to document this couple's love story in such an iconic setting was truly a dream. It reminded us why we fell in love with photography in the first place - to capture genuine moments of joy, love, and connection.

"The Brauns have an eye for beauty that artists can only hope to develop. They captured our day for the beautiful moments it was, always working with what was in front of them, drawing the extraordinary from what others might overlook. When the schedule ran behind, they stayed past the agreed time to make sure they photographed our first dances.
They sent us a handful of edited photos the night of our wedding, while we were still at the reception (!!!). The Brauns worked hard to make sure our wedding would be remembered in the golden, heavenly way we felt it was (and isn't that what every newlywed wants?)."

Joyful Neighborhood Wedding
High Line Car House
Columbus, OH
We remember when we had our first call with Rachael. She was in her apartment, and we could see peeks of their place around her on the video feed. Turns out they have one of the coolest apartments in Columbus, this awesome little studio in an old industrial building in the beautiful German Village. I distinctly remember her email saying that our photography was their “North Star,” and that when they envisioned their photos, they knew we were the ones to help create them. We knew instantly that they had a beautiful vision for their day but more importantly a depth to their hearts that would blend well with ours.
Throughout the weeks leading up to the wedding we bonded over the loss of loved ones and the importance family but also the joy of moving forward and cherishing the gifts we have. Their wedding day proved to be an easy extension of this bond, with them truly inviting us into the day on an emotional level.
The wedding took place in Schiller Park just a few blocks from their home. The entire day was meant to be a really thoughtful invitation to their guests; An invitation into their lives, and the neighborhood that means so much to them.
The reception took place just down the road at High Line Car House, one of our favorite little venues in Columbus. The night was full of touching speeches from different family members. And then… BAM. The most epic dance part we had all year lead by Aaron James from Perfect Balance Entertainment. Just off the dance floor, our BRAUNbooth provided a fun and lighthearted experience for their guests.
Rachael’s face on the dance floor, David singing along with his friends, and their family members surrounding them with love. It was the perfect day.
