2015 - Year In Review

Every year we grow. Every year we learn something new. Every year we make so many new friends, and form bonds with couples that transcend their wedding days. Every year we're more proud of the work we've created, and this year is no exception. Twenty fifteen had it's fair share of challenges, but it was also an incredible year of growth, both as artists and as partners. Mindy and I have been so encouraged and blessed this year, and we have so many people to thank for making all of this possible. This thing we call our job is truly, sincerely, so much more than that.

Kristy + Seth

Italian Destination Elopement

Honestly, it's hard to even know where to begin. We have been patiently waiting to photograph our first elopement for a while now, but there's no way we could've expected it to be quite like this. Just five of us (Seth's best friend Nathan was our officiant/translator/captain/tour guide), traveling across the world to see and experience a country so rich with history and lined with a coast seeming chiseled out of pure romance. Vicenza. Venice. Cinque Terre. Portovenere. Four destinations, each with it's own character and charm. A wedding ceremony on the tip of a peninsula, stretching into the Mediterranean Sea. To use the word epic would be an understatement. This is Kristy + Seth's story.

(We're so excited to share our very first wedding film, so make sure you scroll all the way to the end and see this magic in moving photographs.)

Amy + Chuck // Walden Ponds Wedding

Amy + Chuck got hitched a the historic home at the Walden Ponds Golf Club. Normally the words "golf club" don't inspire much creativity, but we were so surprised by how beautiful and how much character this place had. The old rooms had great window light, and the little courtyard was perfect for their ceremony. Lot's of great little details, and we loved the lanterns they placed all around the house. One of the coolest and most unique parts of there day was the Celtic influence. Chuck's gift from Amy was a kilt, they had a handfasting ceremony, and their reception had plenty of Irish music. On top of that, Amy + Chuck host hat parties at their place, and asked all of their guests to bring a fun hat for the reception. We pretty much saw everything from Amy's tiny, tiny little sombrero, to a chick in a hockey helmet, and an astronaut.

Thanks for the honor of being part of your day, and congratulations guys!

Kelsie + Kevin // Columbus Wedding Photography

Mindy knew Kevin and Kelsie growing up. We spend the early part of the day shooting portraits at Kevin’s parent’s house, which is less than a mile down the road from Mindy’s parent’s. It’s a beautiful property with a seriously good sized pond/lake, fantastic landscaping, and a little tiki hut with a beach and a dock. It was the perfect place for their portraits despite the fact that it rained for a good hour right in the middle of our scheduled picture time. We made it work and I think things turned out fantastic. The rain cleared up in time for the outdoor ceremony, and the overcast skies made for some great soft light all day long.

In case you missed their engagement session, Kelsie has some of the craziest, beautiful rainbow eyes you’ve ever seen.

Yeah, that’s a horse drawn carriage dropping the bride off for the ceremony.
