Kathryn + George
Intimate + Reverent Backyard Wedding
As we sit here, thumbing through the memories captured on this day, we are overwhelmed by the depth of emotions that were present on Kathryn + George's wedding day. It was a day filled with love, faith, and a wholehearted commitment to each other and to God. The journey of capturing love stories through our lens has been a deeply personal one for us. Each wedding we have had the privilege to document has allowed us to witness the beautiful connections that form between two souls, and the way they navigate the world together.
Kathryn + George's wedding day was no exception. From the moment we arrived, it was clear that their love extended far beyond themselves. Their high reverence for God, their faith, and their marriage was palpable in every interaction, every prayer, and every exchange of vows. The intimacy of their backyard reception was a beautiful culmination of a day that was beyond perfect. The warm sunlight filtering through the trees, the laughter of loved ones, and the delicate details that adorned every corner created an atmosphere of nostalgia and comfort.
But what truly stood out to us was Kathryn + George's unwavering presence in every moment. They were not merely going through the motions of their wedding day, but rather taking the time to fully experience each and every joyous moment. It was as if they were actively soaking in every second, imprinting it onto their hearts forever.
Michigan, with it's breathtaking landscapes and charming backdrop, provided the perfect setting for this celebration of love. And as we captured their genuine smiles and the gut-felt laughter that echoed through the air, we couldn't help but feel a sense of gratitude for being able to witness such pure, unadulterated happiness. Kathryn + George's wedding day was a testament to their faith, to their commitment to each other, and to the importance they place on family. It was an event where friends were embraced as members of the family, where good food was shared and enjoyed, and where love and laughter were abundant.
As we reflect on our own personal journey and growth as photographers, we find ourselves humbled by the privilege of being able to document such moments. It is an honor to capture raw, genuine emotions that will be cherished for generations to come. And it is through these experiences that we have come to understand the power of storytelling and the significance of personal details.
To Kathryn + George, we say thank you. Thank you for allowing us to be a part of your love story, for reminding us of the beauty that lies in faith and family, and for inspiring us to continue capturing these invaluable moments with all the love and passion in our hearts. As we remember their day and look to the weddings to come, we can only hope to witness and capture more love stories that are as heartfelt and genuine as this one.
Rachael + David
Joyful Neighborhood Wedding
We remember when we had our first call with Rachael. She was in her apartment, and we could see peeks of their place around her on the video feed. Turns out they have one of the coolest apartments in Columbus, this awesome little studio in an old industrial building in the beautiful German Village. I distinctly remember her email saying that our photography was their “North Star,” and that when they envisioned their photos, they knew we were the ones to help create them. We knew instantly that they had a beautiful vision for their day but more importantly a depth to their hearts that would blend well with ours.
Throughout the weeks leading up to the wedding we bonded over the loss of loved ones and the importance family but also the joy of moving forward and cherishing the gifts we have. Their wedding day proved to be an easy extension of this bond, with them truly inviting us into the day on an emotional level.
The wedding took place in Schiller Park just a few blocks from their home. The entire day was meant to be a really thoughtful invitation to their guests; An invitation into their lives, and the neighborhood that means so much to them.
The reception took place just down the road at High Line Car House, one of our favorite little venues in Columbus. The night was full of touching speeches from different family members. And then… BAM. The most epic dance part we had all year lead by Aaron James from Perfect Balance Entertainment. Just off the dance floor, our BRAUNbooth provided a fun and lighthearted experience for their guests.
Rachael’s face on the dance floor, David singing along with his friends, and their family members surrounding them with love. It was the perfect day.

Laura + Ed
Elegant Outdoor Wedding
There’s something special about getting ready in your childhood home. Laura grew up in a stunning historic home in the Indian Hill neighborhood of Cincinnati. The rooms in their home are filled with family mementoes and memories of Laura’s childhood. The sounds of giggles and little feet of nieces and nephews running around echoed through the halls, and cheers from her college alma mater’s football game in the background. Laura was brimming with the joy and peace of being in a place that was so special to her.
The celebration took place at the Camargo Club, another special place to the family. The night ended with The Sly Band putting on one of the best performances we’ve ever seen. It was the most beautiful fall day, it could not have gone more perfectly. Laughter, family, close friends, a personal ceremony, a candlelight reception and one heck of a dance party. The day they hoped for and will cherish forever.
The team that made this day all Laura + Ed hoped for:
Venue: Camargo Club
Florals: Rosemary Ballard, English Rose Floral Design

Jen + Shawn - Boston Public Library Wedding
Boston, Massachusetts
Sharing this wedding is long over due. We originally met Jen + Shawn over a year before their wedding, at Lauren + Cesar's wedding in Mexico, where Jen was Lauren's Maid of Honor. We spent the day after that wedding hanging in the pool and sipping drinks with these guys, and we knew the friendships we formed on that trip would outlast the flight home. When Jen contacted us about heading to Boston, joining up with the the same crew, and photographing her wedding, we immediately said, "Are you kidding? We'll be there.".
We started our trip exploring the beautiful city of Boston, eating from food trucks and experiencing Uber for the first time (at the time, Uber hadn't rolled out in Ohio). Thanks to Jen + Shawn's recommendation we ate at Row 34. The lobster roll and crab cake are to die for, we almost ordered seconds. Looking back, we probably should have.
Before the rehearsal dinner, we met up with Jen + Shawn and did a short but sweet engagement session out on Pleasure Bay and Castle Island. Even when we travel for weddings we love to find a time to connect with the couple before the wedding. Even a quick session before the wedding can help take awkwardness out of the equation and allow us connect on a deeper level. There's no doubt this translates on the day of the wedding.
We knew the wedding was going to be one of our favorites. The Boston Public Library was such an amazing venue. Full of stunning light, beautiful architecture, and like the rest of Boston, American history. We headed out to the iconic Acorn Street in Beacon Hill for portraits and then found some amazing light around the library. The courtyard was the perfect setting for the ceremony. As large as the library was, the ceremony still felt small and intimate. Dinner was held inside, and the room was elegant and romantic. After dinner we moved to a different room for dancing, and it very quickly transformed into one the best dance parties we've been a part of. Most of the bridal party was with us in Mexico so we were well aware that they knew how to party, but they outdid themselves.
Happy one year anniversary Jen + Shawn! Thank you again for inviting us to Boston and sharing your wedding day with us!
