campus

Erin + Dave // Denison University Wedding // Columbus, Ohio

One of our favorites things about wedding days is scouting out our location in the morning, and finding awesome spots that might not seem so awesome to the casual observer. Erin + Dave got married on the campus of Denison University, a beautiful school located just outside of Columbus, Ohio. The campus is made up of a variety of architectural styles, and  surrounded with trees. As we were walking around, one of the least assuming buildings on campus, the student union, caught my eye. Even the bridal party gave a weird look when I pointed out this gorgeous slate wall surrounding just one small part of the lower level, next to some trash cans. I instantly knew that the light was perfect, and the color and texture would make for some great portraits. In fact, the photos you see in front of that wall are some of our favorites we've ever taken, and the average person has probably never even noticed.

Abby + Dave // Cincinnati Engagement Photography

Abby + Dave are great, and their session is a great example of how we can find a good variety of spots to shoot just about anywhere. We did their session at the University of Cincinnati and the surrounding areas. Every spot was within walking distance and I think we found some really great shots.

We did end up driving over to these railroad tracks to get some shots of them with their dogs Maui + Meka. Dog people are officially the coolest.

Lauren + Rob :: Indianapolis Wedding Photography

Here’s a little preview of wedding numero deuce from the craziest weekend we’ve ever had. Anderson, Indiana is 6 hours driving time from Cleveland. Not too bad unless you consider that it would be nice to sleep a little too :)

I met Lauren and Rob last year, and we pretty much hit it off right away. I mean come on, Rob’s from St. Louis and he showed up to our meeting in a Cardinals hat. You could say he had me before hello. I can’t say I’ve ever met another Cards fan I didn’t like, and these two were no exception. Then Lauren told me she got her dress on Etsy, and that they were planning on hand making a lot of the wedding decorations. A match made in heaven!

Their wedding was on the campus of Anderson University, followed by a reception down town at the Center for the Arts, which is an old restored library with some pretty rad architecture. They also had the best wedding meal ever… A TACO BAR. Followed by individual homemade cakes at each table. Both genius and delicious!

These are their programs, which doubled as fans since the wedding was outside, and tripled as entertainment for the guests while they were waiting. One side has a crossword puzzle and the other side a mad-lib. Very clever.

Check out that ceiling!
