Crystal + Nathan :: Videography

In December we had the honor of shooting Crystal & Nate’s wedding here in Dayton. During the planning, Crystal asked me if we had any suggestions for videographers. Since we didn’t know any at the time, we enlisted Facebook to help us find a good fit. A friend recommended that we check out Timeless Pictures, the company run by Brett and Drew Varvel.

This is the video they put together for Crystal and Nate. If you ask me, it’s just stunning.

For those of you planning your wedding, these guys are who you need to talk to if you want video. They were great to work with, extremely professional, and they push the limits of how “cinematic” a wedding video can be. We would love to have the opportunity to work with them again!

Lily + Joseph :: Dayton Engagement Photography

Some of you may remember back in November when we shot Stephanie & Eric’s engagement photos. Well Stephanie is good friends with Lily, and recommended that she check us out for her wedding photographers. We met up, and it was an instant connection. They scheduled their engagement shoot for just a few weeks later, and we headed to Wegerzyn Gardens just outside of downtown.

Lily and Joseph are a lot of fun, and we’re really looking forward to their wedding next April in Grand Rapids, Michigan!

This might be one of my favorite frames I’ve ever taken…

Amanda + Brett :: Dayton Engagement Photography

We didn’t know Amanda and Brett before this session, but since they’re from Cedarville, we instantly had something in common. We met up at the Clifton Gorge, a place Mindy and I spent a lot of time while we were in school. We had such a great time hiking through the Gorge, and strolling around the little town of Clifton. Who knew a place with maybe 10 houses in it would be such a photographer’s haven!

Check out the blog in September for their wedding!

Sarah + Joe :: Dayton Engagement Photography

Halloween.

It’s about the only time we actually see our friends Sarah and Joe. Every year our group of friends get together for a halloween party, and for some of them it’s the only time we see them each year.

Sarah and Joe are an integral part of our Halloween festivities. We play this crazy game every year, and Joe manages to screw the whole thing up, every time. On purpose. I personally find it hilarious. Others (I’m looking at you Stacey!) don’t like so much. Which it’s like fuel for Joe’s fire…

Luckily when they got engaged they came straight to us, and we couldn’t be more honored to shoot their wedding!

They’re getting married this summer, so look for them again right here in July!

Elise + Matt :: Indianapolis Wedding Photography

Okay… so maybe Indianapolis is a stretch. Elise and Matt got married in Anderson, Indiana, which is just outside Indy. They’re one of those perfect couples, they’re both amazing looking people, but they’re just so awesome to be around too. Elise is soft spoken and sweet, and Matt is just fun. And he looks a little bit like Jude Law. They were the first couple we met with after our trip to Las Vegas, and it paid huge dividends. We met up with them a few weeks before the wedding at Chili’s (which by the way is one of those weird restaurants that we rarely go to, but EVERYTHING on the menu is amazing), and sat down and got to know them on a more personal level and hashed out details.

That meeting spurred them to hunt down a cool location near the church for pictures, and you can see the SHA-WEET barn they found. Did I mention how great they were to work with?!

Elise and Matt both went to Cedarville University, which is where Mindy and I first met. It’s always great to work with couples from CU, one because they’re always fantastic people, but two because we usually get to see old friends that we haven’t seen in a while.
