Emily + Michael // Washington Memorial Chapel // Valley Forge, Pennsylvania
Yep, another destination wedding. We have had such a great time traveling this year, seeing new places, and experiencing cities we've never seen. Emily + Michael live a few blocks from us in Dayton, but Emily is from the Philadelphia area. They got married at the historic Washington Memorial Chapel in Valley Forge, just a quick drive outside of Philly. The weather was absolutely amazing, and these two just ooze love for each other. It's so easy to photograph a couple that shows affection like these two. Of course, a trip to Philly means we were finally able to try a real cheesesteak. We're happy to give your our opinion (and it might surprise you) if you're interested.
Also, this post is a little out of order, but Mike is a captain in the Air Force, and he's being deployed this week. The military influence on this wedding is evident. Servicemen have a bond that's deep, and service to our country is something that Mindy and I have a huge respect for, especially having a dad who was a Marine and a brother in the Army. At the reception all of the people who have served in the military were asked to stand, and more than half of the room was on their feet, the other half clapping and crying (including us!).
Michael, we're proud to call you a friend, and we can't wait to welcome you back home. Serve well.
Kelsey + Andrew // Olowalu Destination Wedding // Maui, Hawaii
We went to Hawaii. Whoa.
We never dreamed of the places this job would take us, and we never imagined how many great people we would meet because of what we do. Mexico, Alaska, all over the continental US, and now this? Kelsey and Andrew brought us with them to the amazing island of Maui, and we will definitely never forget the experience.
There is so much we could say about these two, about their families, and about their friends, but we honestly just want to let the photos speak for themselves. Enjoy.
Neither of us had ever been to Hawaii before, so obviously we had to do some exploring and some relaxing and some adventuring.
Louisa + Patrick // Adventure Engagement // Anchorage, Alaska
How do you follow up a destination wedding in Mexico? How about a trip to Alaska! When Louisa + Patrick first contacted us about their upcoming wedding in Cincinnati, we couldn't help but notice that they live in Alaska. After talking with them, we all agreed that the only way we could truly tell their story is if we photographed them in one of the most beautiful places on earth.
Lauren + Cesar // Riviera Maya Mexico // Destination Wedding
That time we shot our very first out-of-the-country destination wedding. In the Riviera Maya. In Mexico. Thank you Lauren + Cesar for bringing us down with you and allowing us the opportunity to be a part of your celebration. We won't soon forget it. The rehearsal:

I'd say it's pretty obvious that 2012 was amazing. Big thanks our friends our friends Jenny + Will, Jen + Jonah, Rebekah + Ben, Jeff Marsh, Phil Chester, Lauren Grove, David McClain, Tyler Hoff, Anthony Slusher, and a whole bunch of our previous clients for referring weddings, giving advice, helping us out, and for being such good friends to us this year.
Ali + Brock // Hood Canal Wedding // Seattle, Washington
They say that it's always raining Seattle. If you ask us, it may be raining in Seattle, just when we're not there. We've been there twice now, and the entire time we've spent there it's been sunny and gorgeous. Their engagement session was perfect, and Ali + Brock's wedding was no different. We couldn't have asked for better weather, especially for an outdoor wedding at a beach house on the Hood Canal. Hopefully 2013 will bring more amazing opportunities to travel!
We also want to give a huge shout out to our good friend Jeff, who helped put us in contact with Ali + Brock. You can check out his video coverage of the wedding below!
