Lauren + Michael // Dayton Wedding Photography
This wedding is a great example of what happens when you plan a perfect schedule with plenty of time for photographs. Lauren + Michael did a first look, and worked with us to plan their day. We had so much time, we were able to get some of the finest photos we’ve ever taken, and they day was stress free, relaxing, and definitely fun. We absolutely love it when we can make friends with our clients, and that’s exactly what happened with Lauren + Michael. Mike even told me at the end of the reception, “We were really looking forward to today. Yes, because of all the wedding stuff, but we couldn’t wait to work with you guys and see what you’d come up with.” Apparently they were absolutely thrilled with their engagement photos, and when the wedding rolled around they left things completely in our hands. They trusted us, and didn’t bat an eye when we asked them to stand behind a dumpster, or under some stairs on the side of a building.
Here at BRAUNphotography, we have a process in place to ensure this kind of bond and trust is developed with our clients. It starts with a face-to-face meeting, which followed by a complimentary engagement session. By the time the wedding rolls around, we’ve gotten to know each other, and there’s a level of trust that just can’t be matched by a photographer who just “shows up.” We do what we do for a reason!

Emily + Steve // Cincinnati Engagement Photography
Rescheduled. Rescheduled. Rescheduled again. All of the rain we’ve had lately has meant lots and lots of rescheduled shoots. The good news is, if we’re patient, God really blesses us with an absolutely beautiful day, even in the rainy spring season. Such was the case with Emily and Steve’s shoot, as you can see. We waited for just the right day instead of risking the rain and clouds, and it was totally worth it. These shots were taken at Ault Park in Cincinnati. It’s a great place for an engagement session, but apparently you have to watch out for 800 small children running around in dresses and suits… (there was some sort of Catholic first communion event happening, and the kids were completely wild!) Oh, and there were probably 30 people there for a wedding rehearsal too. If you can get past the people, there’s some really fun architecture, a great fountain, and a lot of really nice tree covered areas.
These two were so great to work with, they just laughed at all the kids. It took a little work to get some of these shots without people in them, and thankfully they trusted us 100% to get the shots we needed even if it took a little effort. We can’t wait for Emily and Steve’s wedding in August!
Welcome to the brand new blog!
We're so excited to announce that with the launch of our new website, we also have a brand new, totally overhauled blog! There are a TON of new features and enhancments, and the new system will allow us to add even more functionality and features really easily in the future. If there's something you'd really like to see, please leave a comment on this post with your suggestions. The first, and biggest new feature is that ability for us to post individually authored posts. You'll see up at the top of this post, just below the title that it was written by "BRAUNphotography." That means it was a joint effort between us and more of a business related post. Posts written by Cameron will say so, and same for Mindy.
Poke around and check out the new site, leave us some comments, and we'll try to showcase a few of the other cool features in the coming weeks. Hope you love it!
If you'd like to access any of our older posts from the old blog, you can view them here: BRAUNphotography Tumblr.
Steph + Dylan :: Dayton Wedding Photography
Steph and Dylan are one of those couples. The kind that you can’t help but love. They laugh. All the time. Their attitudes are infectious. I mean come on, check out those plaid bow ties! Needless to say, their wedding was so much fun. And on top of that, they had one of the most amazing wedding day schedules we’ve ever had. First look at 11:00am, ceremony at 1:00pm, a short reception immediately following, and unlimited time for bridal portraits starting at 4:30pm. BRILLIANT.
The Lord was gracious and gave us a few hours without rain, and with such a flexible schedule and so much time to work with, we were able to get some great shots despite the gloomy weather.
And of course we gotta give a shout out to our friends at The Flowerman, who provided some killer flowers once again. Check them out if you haven’t found your florist yet, we promise you they’re the best.
(P.S. We’ve decide to stop including the website watermark on our blog images. It was a little bit tacky, and hopefully by now folks can recognize our style. Please don’t steal our images, it’s not very nice.)
Steph and Dylan are both really into board games, and they had a wonderful Scrabble theme going through the wedding. Each of their bridal party had their names in Scrabble letters at their place setting at the reception. They had game pieces on the cake table, labeling the gift table, and a bunch left over to play with during pictures. Such a fun idea!
These next two are my favorite of the day, both taken by Mindy.

Anson + David :: Cincinnati Engagement Photography
I don’t know where this misconception about Lawyers started. One of my best friends is a lawyer. David’s a lawyer too. And he happens to be really nice and very genuine. I don’t get it?
David is marrying Anson this August in Cincinnati. Anson’s a Physical Therapist at the Cleveland Clinic, one of the most prestigious hospitals in the world. One heck of a combo, huh? But don’t let the professional titles fool you, these two are in love, and they’re kids at heart. We had a great time shooting with them down in Cincinnati. Anson even climbed a tree at Devou Park. And apparently she’s a pretty big fan of America’s Next Top Model (a fact that seems to always come out when you’re being photographed BTW).
And of course, a few shots of your photographers in action…
